The second Slalom Classic Karting l’Escala brought 30 teams together on 24 October 2026 for a day focused on driving precision and regularity. Daniel Sánchez took the overall win in a BMW E30, with little separating the leading places.

According to organiser Classics Rent Services, Sánchez finished on 2.4 points. Víctor Castro followed in a Citroën AX GT on 3.4, while Xavier Gayán completed the podium in a Peugeot 106 with 3.5 points.

Close competition among compact classics

Class C attracted the largest field. José Sánchez and Joan Bartrina contested the class lead, with Sánchez eventually taking the honours in a Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk2 on five points.

Dakar co-driver Jan Rosa also entered, finishing second in Class F and eighth overall in a BMW 325i. Between competitive runs, autocross driver Pol Salichs gave a demonstration in his Labase SX-01.

An introduction to regularity events

The Slalom Classic concept is intended to bring newcomers into this branch of the sport. Its venue-based format puts the emphasis on precision while allowing drivers with different cars and levels of experience to share the same event.

L’Escala also illustrated the continuing sporting appeal of once-familiar production cars. An E30, AX or Golf can still provide a reason to compete, learn and meet other enthusiasts. The results and account above are drawn from the organiser’s post-event press release.
